On Thursday 7th of January 2010, the president For a Smile Onlus (NPO) Ludovica Vanni was guest of Federica Panicucci in the studios of “Mattino 5”. For the occasion, Paola Rivetta, prominent journalist and testimonial for For a Smile Onlus, was also interviewed, live from TG5’s studios in Rome.

Paola Rivetta, patroness, voice and heart of the project Talitha Cum and testimonial for the social communication campaign “One Hand is Enough” has provided, together with the President of For a Smile Onlus, an authoritative testimony of the current serious emergency of the “young street girls” in Congo.

A cruel situation that very few people know in depth, if at all, the story of these young street girls is one of marginalisation and torture and is a reality which For a Smile Onlus (NPO) was summoned to help eradicate, by building the Day Care Centre Talitha Cum in Kinshasa: a centre created to welcome, give shelter and raise street girls of 0 to 16 years of age, daughters of poverty and of a wrecked society; girls who have lost their family, who are war refugees, girls with no place to go.
At the Talitha Cum centre the girls will find a home, hope and a future.
