For a Smile was founded February 10 th 2006 , an important and memorable day both for me and my town, because it also represented the beginning of the Turin Winter Olympic Games.
The hope that inspires this exciting social project is the concrete possibility of improving the quality of life of children all over the world, most of all those living in the poorest and most disadvantaged areas.
It is for precisely this reason that For a Smile presents itself through a smile, an expression as simple as it is unique in its value. It is a spontaneous and joyful emotion that can come from even the smallest gesture of love, from the contact between someone who wants to give and someone who needs to receive.
As our social awareness has grown and developed, my partners and I have decided to concentrate the first funds available in two of the many places of the world which are afflicted by serious social and economic problems. Thanks to the help of our supporters, our “friends”, we are particularly active in Eritrea and Brazil at the moment, providing water and electricity for their nurseries, as well as all-important health and psychological support for the children.
The support and help of all the old and future “friends” of For a Smile is fundamental for the organisation to continue its work and realise its dream. My great hope is that day by day, For Smile will be able to transform the lives of, and give joy and smiles to, children all over the world.
